Exceptional Aging
Hello BrainFit Friends! In Dr. Eric Topol’s compelling book Super Agers, the first chapter introduces us to two very different aging journeys. One woman, nearly 100 years old, lives independently, drives, walks without assistance, and enjoys meaningful social connections. The other, decades younger, struggles with declining physical and cognitive health, relying on constant medical support. The contrast is striking—and deeply relevant to all of us.
So, what sets them apart?
The answer lies not just in luck or genetics, but in a concept called exceptional aging—a term used to describe individuals who maintain sharp minds, physical vitality, and emotional well-being well into their 80s, 90s, and beyond. While no one can escape the aging process entirely, research continues to show that our choices, routines, and engagement levels have a tremendous influence on how we age.
The Super Ager Mindset
They stay mentally active, continuing to challenge their brain with reading, writing, puzzles, or learning new skills.
They remain socially connected, building relationships that fuel emotional resilience.
They move their bodies, not just with exercise, but with intentional, regular movement that keeps the mind-body connection alive.
They cultivate a positive outlook and sense of purpose—critical to maintaining brain and emotional health.
At BrainFit, our mission is to help people live more like the first woman in the story. Through engaging, science-backed classes and materials, we promote the habits that contribute to healthspan—the period of life spent in good health, free from chronic disease or cognitive decline.
How BrainFit Supports Exceptional Aging
Mental Stimulation: Our memory games, creative challenges, and problem-solving tasks help build neuroplasticity and sharpen recall.

Social Connection: BrainFit classes are interactive and group-based, encouraging conversation and shared learning.
Purpose and Positivity: Our themes are uplifting and future-focused—encouraging participants to look ahead with curiosity, not fear.
We may not all become Super Agers in the strictest sense, but with the right support and consistent mental engagement, we can all become more brain-fit versions of ourselves—living fuller, richer lives in the process.
Train your brain to stay in the game.
That’s the BrainFit way.
